SOME USEFUL INFORMATION ON BREEDING AND THE DEVELPOMENT OF KITS
MATING
It is better to have a smaller buck to put to a larger doe. Rabbits do
not usually have many problems when it comes to mating.Although a
breeder will probably tell you diffrent. It is practical to place a doe
in the bucks cage and not the other way round. As the doe will attack
the buck. If a doe is interested, mating takes place quickly. With the
buck falling off to the side of the doe and making a shrill noise.
PREGNANCY
If the doe is in kindle (pregnant),she will start to gather
materal for a nest.Around 10 days later. She may become a bit
aggressive, but this will get better after the litter is born. The day
she is due to kindle she may go off her food and begin to pull out her
fur.She does this to line her nest. It takes about 28 to 33 days for
the babies (kits) to be born.
